Buy-a-brick campaign recognises our amazing donors!

Age Concern Southend introduced a ‘buy a brick’ campaign in 2019 and are pleased to see our donor recognition wall in situ at the Haven Community Hub, celebrating all our amazing supporters, currently totally approximately 60 bricks.

Many donations have come from users, including our previous Club 50+ members, local businesses and those made in memory of loved ones.

After material costs, the scheme has helped raise over £3,000 for Age Concern Southend, which has been used on renovation work to open the Haven Community Hub as a space for the elderly and wider community. Renovation work has included fire safety measures, structural and decorative changes.

We are incredibly grateful for all donations received to help our small independent charity reach more people. We provide support, advice and services to older people in Southend and the surrounding communities and we continue to make the Haven Community Hub a safe welcoming place where people can socialise, join in with support and leisure groups and take part in activities to keep fit and stay active.
