Taking care of you and your loved ones during the Christmas period; the importance of respite care
As magical as Christmas can be, it can also be a time where many of us feel we are continuingly chasing our tails…organising and attending social events, festive shopping, visiting family, preparing meals and so on can cause stresses to the average person but having the additional responsibility of caring for someone during the holiday season can be difficult.
Finding the right respite care can give you a chance to take a break from your usual care responsibilities, tick off some Christmas tasks on our list, and focus on your own health and well-being.
At ‘Days at the Haven’ we offer a daily care service, specialising care for neurological conditions, such as Dementia, brain injury, Parkinson’s and Stroke survivors. Based on Hamlet Court Road, Westcliff, we offer full days 10am – 4pm for £65, half days costing £35 and ad-hoc hourly care. We are open Mondays, Wednesday, Thursday afternoon and Fridays and we currently have availability on Mondays and Thursdays.
To ensure we are the right fit for each other, all potential clients are offered a free half day trial session so we can get to know each other, access their needs, and see what activities they might enjoy. We pride ourselves on offering a varied programme of activities in a clean, safe and welcoming environment.
And, we don’t just let Christmas pass unmarked. We love to celebrate and mark occasions with our clients, there will be Christmas themed crafting, carolling, singing, dancing and plenty of festive cheer throughout the centre so you can leave your loved one in the knowledge they are being well cared for and enjoying themselves.
