Christmas Fayre raises over £2,000 for Age Concern Southend

The Haven Community Hub’s annual Christmas Fayre on Sunday 20th November 2022 was a great success, raising over £2,000 for Age Concern Southend.

The festive shopping event hosted over 25 stalls selling homemade gifts, arts and crafts, books, jewellery, clothing, toys and much more. A number of these stalls were also fundraising for the charity including a Christmas children’s tombola and lucky dip, guess the weight of the cake, handmade children’s bracelets, crochet and knitted goods, wood turning gifts and a fabulous raffle. These stalls were run and supported by amazing volunteers for the charity, for which we are very grateful for all their hard work.

Clare Rooney, Hub Manager said, “This really was a community event. It was supported by staff, volunteers, community groups and local businesses. We had hundreds of visitors on the day and all the money raised will go to Age Concern Southend, who provide vital services to the elderly community of Southend and fund the Haven Community Hub.”
