What’s on at the Haven Community Hub this February?
Our February timetable is now available to view: Click here to open
Timetable February 2023 updatedDue to demand, we have added a second falls management class, followed by Chair Pilates. You can now enjoy these activities on Tuesday and Wednesday.
We also have a new befriending group on Thursday mornings, this is additional to our usual Wednesday Coffee and Conversations. Both groups are free to attend, (donations welcome) and aimed at combating social isolation in the community. These are relaxed groups where anyone is welcome to share friendship over a cuppa!
Carer Support Group returns for 2023, our first meeting of the New Year is held in our neurological day centre within the Haven Community Hub. This is a free group which meets on the third Tuesday of every month, 10.00-11.30am and is open to all carers. Please let us know if you would like to attend by emailing bookings@acsos.co.uk.
We are also hoping to expand our weekend offering and open on Sundays too – watch this space. If you are interested in hiring a room, please explore our space here.
Advanced booking for classes is advised. To book a class, email bookings@acsos.co.uk or call 01702 345 373

GOOD NEWS…We have decided to continue to run our offer to ‘try a new class for £1‘ as this has been a great success last month. This offer is open to new and existing users of the Haven Community Hub, if you have your eye on a class you haven’t yet tried, this is your chance! The offer also includes any new classes to the timetable, such as Chair Pilates and Fall Prevention.
It’s been fabulous seeing the Haven Community Hub so busy and we’ve enjoyed welcoming many new faces. Many of our classes have benefitted from our January offer, including our Art Class, Coffee and Conversations (friendship group), Fall Prevention and Chair Pilates and Yoga. The Haven Community Hub is a space for everyone, young, old and varied abilities. The Hub is run and funded by Age Concern Southend-on-Sea. (Registered Charity No.1160916). By using the Hub you are helping to fund the activities of Age Concern Southend – enabling us to put on more classes but, also to expand offerings elsewhere including our respite care centre and befriending activities.
